Launching The Skip Podcast

I’m pleased to announce The Skip Podcast, an extension to the Skip Newsletter, devoted to helping tech professionals get ahead in their career. I will be hosting this biweekly podcast and aim, alongside my guests, to help product managers and other tech leaders choose their next job, navigate professional transitions, and shape their career for the long term.

I’ve had success as a founder, head of product, and executive at large tech companies. I currently serve as Vice President of Product at Meta, where I focus on the Home and Groups products for Facebook. Starting in 2010, in addition to my career as a product management executive, I began an informal coaching and mentoring practice, helping people with job transitions, compensation negotiations, tricky management challenges, and career anxiety. I now coach more than 100 senior leaders in tech, skewed heavily toward underrepresented, high-potential product executives.

So in 2020, after witnessing a decade of common patterns and challenges, I created two products to help scale. The first was to launch the Skip Newsletter, addressing common questions with clear frameworks. My initial long-form articles have covered topics such as the appropriate stage of company to join, how to start a new job, and demystifying compensation. My hope is that the podcast will increase the frequency of content and include the input of other executives who are also passionate about offering career guidance.
